Type of Services Offered

The famous "Twelve Steps" of AA express the philosophy and recovery process of this international association. Offering hope of recovery from alcoholism is an essential feature of Alcoholics Anonymous. Such hope is provided by example and supportive interrelationships with other members of this self-help fellowship.

Each person is expected to become involved with the Twelve Steps of AA, an ongoing process that "twelve-steppers" refer to as "working the Program…" The word "alcohol" appears only in the first step. This one reference underscores AA's belief that the main work in recovery is a restructuring of the alcoholic's life.

The Twelve Traditions of AA are the operational principles of the fellowship and express the importance and significance of the group in relationship to its members, nonmembers, and society in general.

Online essay help on AA Meeting

Group Size

This group looks pretty big. There were about 50 people.

Agency Purpose

Alcoholics Anonymous is one of the most successful approaches in recovery from alcoholism. AA is a fellowship of problem drinkers who want help in maintaining sobriety. The agency's purpose is to help alcoholics to quit drinking. When they gather together, they help each other to quit drinking. They share their experiences with each other and they learn through their experiences. When they hear different stories on how bad alcohol can make you look, then they understand that there is no purpose for using alcohol. What the agency does is that they let everybody gather together and share their own experiences.

Source of Clients

Source of clients can be from court orders, doctor referrals, counseling or just being tired of self abuse.

Cost of Clients

This program is completely free and available to everybody.

How is Program Funded?

It's a self-supported organization which works through donations.

Program Methodology

This program is developed on these twelve steps

1.We admitted we were powerless over alcohol-that our lives had become unmanageable.

.Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

.Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we Understood Him.

4.Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5.Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.

6.Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.

7.Humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.

8.Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.

.Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.

10.Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

11.Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out.

1.Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

Program Success

There were about 50 folks who succeeded in this program. They were sharing their happy moments on how this program helped them out.

Other Information

Founded in 15 by two alcoholics who were unable to achieve an alcohol-free lifestyle individually, AA began when these two joined together to stay sober through mutual support. Voluntary membership involves an emotional commitment that the alcoholic is powerless over the control of alcohol and that only "a power greater than the self" AA's concept of God as we understand him-can restore soundness of mind.

I think it's a great program that helps people to quit drinking. I am glad that the AA meeting is available for everyone and it's available for free.

Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa

In a society which believes that a picture is worth a thousand words it is not surprising that a preoccupation with image has led to the establishment of eating disorders as a serious and rapidly increasing problem. At a very young age people, especially women, are bombarded with the message that in order to lead a successful and rewarding life they must fit the "cookie cutter" image society sets forth. The quest for this ideal image has become so powerful that many people will do almost anything to attain it. As a result of this, eating disorders afflict millions of people, thousands of which will die from them yearly. Two of the most common eating disorders are Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. These two disorders involve a dangerous fixation with food and weight loss, both of which can be attributed to far more serious underlying problems in that persons life.

Anorexia Nervosa is a disease that is both a mental and physical ailment. It is characterized by a significant weight loss resulting from excessive, compulsive dieting. Inspired by an overwhelming desire to be thin and debilitating fear of being overweight, anorexics become obsessed with food and the process of eating. Many consider themselves fat, no matter what their actual weight is, always seeing a place where improvement can be made. A person with anorexia may also feel the only control they have in their lives is in the area of food and weight. If they cant control what is happening around them, they can control their weight. Some common symptoms of the disorder include, noticeable weight loss, becoming withdrawn, excessive exercise, fatigue, unusual eating habits and guilt or shame about eating. Frighteningly the disease can have many additional physical complications apart from the initial weight loss. Many sufferers experience fatigue, stomach pains, insomnia, hair loss, irregular heartbeats and loss of bone mass. Anorexia is a difficult illness because it is not easily understood. No one really knows what causes it in each particular case; it is difficult to treat and tends to be a long-term condition.

Essay writing services for Anorexia and Bulimia Nervosa papers

Bulimia Nervosa, like anorexia, is an illness that focuses closely on insecurity and a discontent with one's self. Understood as a vicious cycle of binge eating followed by purging to try and rid the body of unwanted calories, bulimia is an extremely destructive disorder. Purging methods usually involve vomiting and laxative abuse, but can also involve excessive exercise, fasting and the use of diuretics, diet pills and enemas. Because of the complementary acts of binging and purging, bulimics tend to be of normal body weight and thus the disease is usually more difficult to detect. Although the excessive weight loss may not be as present, bulimics are subject to some equally serious symptoms. Low blood pressure, chronic sore throat, hair loss, tooth decay, constipation and kidney damage are all familiar complications involved with this devastating disease. Unlike anorexics, bulimics do tend to realize they have a problem and are more likely to seek help.

Eating disorders are not the result of issues involving food, but instead the manifestation of deeper psychological problems. These problems differ from person to person but commonly involve low self esteem and an unfulfilled pursuit of control. In order to successfully combat this rising epidemic, society must address these issues and take a better look at the contribution it has had towards them. As the emphasis on body image and thinness continues to increase so will the occurrences of eating disorders, and resultantly the deaths of millions of people.

Odysseus' Life Compared to the My Life

Odysseus' life is very similar to the lives of many teenagers in many ways. Many teenagers have to make tough decisions, and so did Odysseus. I have to make many choices about things during my life, and Odysseus had to make many tough choices during his journey. During my life I have had to make such decisions as who to be friends with, and trying to decide to do what is good or what is bad. Odysseus had to do the same things. He had to decide to leave Cyclops Island and possibly die, or he had the decision to stay and the Cyclops would kill him. Although my life is not as complicated as Odysseus', life is still rough.

When I was born I had numerous heart problems and the doctors didn't think that I would make it. I was very small and I had too many holes in my heart. Well the doctors were wrong, and I made a full recovery within weeks. This is kind of like Odysseus' journey. When I was reading parts of the book I never thought that Odysseus would make it home, but against all odds he finally made it home to Ithaca. Then Odysseus having to defeat the rest of the suitors he devised a plan. A plan to destroy all of them so his kingdom wouldn't be threatened. That is in a way like everyone's life. Everyone has a plan for there life, and they would devise a plan so no one else could destroy it.

When Odysseus lands on Scheria, home of the Phaeacian's, he is welcomed with open arms. The Phaeacian's welcomed him into their kingdom. They felt honored that he was in there presence. The Phaeacian's say that they will make sure that Odysseus makes a safe return to Ithaca so he can be with his family. In return, Odysseus tells the Phaeacian's of his travels and hardships from the past decade. When someone does something nice for you, you usually repay him or her. I have always done that. If someone saves your life you usually say thank you or give him or her something. I have done this exact thing in the past week.

Over spring break my car got hit in a restaurant parking lot and they took off. The bumper of my car had been damaged, so I brought to one of my friend's dad. He gladly helped me fix the bumper. I asked if there was anything that I could do to repay him. He said no, but then I asked his wife. His wife said that he likes a good bottle of scotch or bourbon. So I went out to a liquor store and I gave my mom money to buy a bottle of Evan Williams. I gave it to him and he was very surprised. He said thank you, and I said it was the least I could do. I will continue to do things like that if people help me when I am in need of something.

When Odysseus returned to Ithaca his kingdom was overunned with jealous and greedy suitors. Odysseus disguised in beggars clothing had to in some way defeat all these suitors. Penelope, Odysseus wife had said since her husband had not returned for so long that whoever could string Odysseus bow and shoot an arrow through 1 axes would marry her, and takeover the kingdom. Odysseus was the only person who could ever shoot the arrow through the 1 axes. Many of the suitors tried and tried, but no one could even string the bow. Then an old man dressed in beggars clothing tried and he strung the bow with ease and shot the arrow straight threw the axes. That old man was Odysseus; he has returned to takeover his kingdom. Then when he did that he had decided to kill all the suitors. Odysseus did what any of us would of done. If someone came into your home and took it over, I would try to get them out at all costs. My life is a continuous journey, but Odysseus' is now over.

Come, Muse, to our Mystical Chorus,

O come to the joy of my song,

O see on the benches before us that countless and wonderful throng,

Where wits by the thousand abide, with more than a Cleophons pride-

Write my paper on The ease of fooling computers for me

On the lips of that foreigner base, of Athens the bane and disgrace,

There is shrieking, his kinsman by race,

The garrulous swallow of Thrace;

From that perch of exotic descent,

Rejoicing her sorrow to vent,

She pours to her spirits content, a nightingales woful lament,

That een though the voting be equal, his ruin will soon be the sequel.

Well it suits the holy Chorus evermore with counsel wise

To exhort and teach the city; this we therefore now advise-

End the townsmens apprehensions; equalize the rights of all;

If by Phrynichuss wrestlings some perchance sustained a fall,

Yet to these tis surely open, having put away their sin,

For their slips and vacillations pardon at your hands to win.

Give your brethren back their franchise.

Sin and shame it were that slaves,

Who have once with stern devotion fought your battle on the waves,

Should be straightway lords and masters, yea Plataeans fully blown-

Not that this deserves our censure; there I praise you; there alone

Has the city, in her anguish, policy and wisdom shown-

Nay but these, of old accustomed on our ships to fight and win,

(They, their fathers too before them), these our very kith and kin,

You should likewise, when they ask you, pardon for their single sin.

O by nature best and wisest,

O relax your jealous ire,

Let us all the world as kinsfolk and as citizens acquire,

All who on our ships will battle well and bravely by our side.

If we cocker up our city, narrowing her with senseless pride,

Now when she is rocked and reeling in the cradles of the sea,

Here again will after ages deem we acted brainlessly.

And O if Im able to scan the habits and life of a man

Who shall rue his iniquities soon! not long shall that little baboon,

That Cleigenes shifty and small, the wickedest bathman of all

Who are lords of the earth-which is brought from the isle of Cimolus, and wrought

With nitre and lye into soap-

Not long shall he vex us, I hope.

And this the unlucky one knows,

Yet ventures a peace to oppose,

And being addicted to blows he carries a stick as he goes,

Lest while he is tipsy and reeling, some robber his cloak should be stealing.

Often has it crossed my fancy, that the city loves to deal

With the very best and noblest members of her commonweal, just as with our ancient coinage, and the newly-minted gold.

Yea for these, our sterling pieces, all of pure Athenian mould,

All of perfect die and metal, all the fairest of the fair,

All of workmanship unequalled, proved and valued everywhere

Both amongst our own Hellenes and Barbarians far away,

These we use not but the worthles pinchbeck coins of yesterday,

Vilest die and basest metal, now we always use instead.

Even so, our sterling townsmen, nobly born and nobly bred,

Men of worth and rank and mettle, men of honourable fame,

Trained in every liberal science, choral dance and manly game,

These we treat with scorn and insult, but the strangers newliest come,

Worthless sons of worthless fathers, pinchbeck townsmen, yellowy scum,

Whom in earlier days the city hardly would have stooped to use

Even for her scapegoat victims, these for every task we choose.

O unwise and foolish people, yet to mend your ways begin;

Use again the good and useful so hereafter, if ye win

Twill be due to this your wisdom if ye fall, at least twill be

Not a fall that brings dishonour, falling from a worthy tree.

Enter AEACUS, XANTHIAS and two attendants.

Nick's Character Interpretation

Order essays on great gatsby nick carraway and other topics

Nick Carraway's judgments of many of the main characters at the end of the book are very different from the way he viewed the same characters earlier in the book. Nick is a dynamic character in that in the beginning of the novel he is fascinated by the quick, high-intensity New York lifestyle, but at the end of the novel he becomes fed up with all of the lies and finds this lifestyle not fitting. This change in sentiment greatly affects his feelings toward the fast-paced, dishonest characters he is surrounded by in this novel. Three characters that he originally enjoys but later finds to be disgusting to him are Daisy Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, and Jordan Baker.

In the beginning of the book Nick had a good relationship with Daisy. Daisy is Nick's cousin but they were not very close emotionally, and he did not know her very well. Nick was in an interesting position in which he was playing a matchmaker for Daisy's affair with Gatsby. As the novel progressed he began to recognize that she was extremely insecure, and was a very shallow person. Despite this he still likes her until the end of the novel when Nick realized that Daisy has no morals. Nick decides she has no morals when she refuses to take the blame for Myrtle's murder. Nick felt that Daisy was responsible not only for Myrtle's murder but also Gatsby's.

Early on in the book Tom was a strong acquaintance of Nick's. Nick knew that Tom was a washed up jock but nonetheless he still enjoyed his company, and they would frequently spend time together. Nick began to dislike Tom when he realized his complete disregard for other people and selfishness. For example, Tom was having an affair with Myrtle whom he was very rude to, but would have killed Daisy had he found hard proof of her affair with Gatsby. At the end of the novel Nick was disgusted with Tom and even refused to shake his hand. Nick knew that Tom told George Wilson, Myrtle's husband, that Gatsby was the one who killed Myrtle and refused to tell him that in fact Daisy was driving the car. Nick becomes fed up with the constant web of lies intended to maintain high social status in the Eggs. He realizes that the people he is surrounded by have no morals and the only thing that matters to them is looking good in front of the rest of the rich crowd. Tom is the epitome of this lifestyle and Nick grows to be disgusted with him.

Throughout the novel Nick seems to be in love with the beautiful golfer, Jordan Baker. He loves her because she is a very vibrant character and is attracted to her intelligence. He maintains this image of Jordan until the end of the novel when he realizes that she is no better than the rest of the hierarchy of the Eggs. He finally begins to realize that she is selfish and has no awareness for the people around her. He also realizes that she is dishonest and has the same primary goal of climbing in social status. Nick is still fascinated by her through the whole novel but no longer has the same loving feelings toward her.

Nick is accused of being a sour character that is out to hurt people. This is not true because Nick doesn't have a change of heart but rather he just realizes that he has been misled the whole time. He simply realizes that he can not continue living in that world, and that the people who surround him are rotten people.

Nick simply becomes fed up with the fallacy of the Eggs and everything in them. He got sick of the people, the parties, and the lack of human realness. He needed to leave town and head west. Nick realized that honesty and kindness are the true virtues, and that money and extravagance is not important. I think that Nick would live a very meaningful life if he made it out west.

Genetic engineering is a new development in 0 century's technology and it became very animation until now. One of the most comments used is transferring the gene proteins from one thing to anther, which can improve the food quality. We called these food transgenic products. However there still have many considerations.

There is a growth hormone in the cows called the bovine somatotrophin (BST), which stimulate them to produce more milk. In 180 the scientists of America used genetic engineering to extract the DNA, which controlled the hormone BST from the cows cells. Then the scientists transferred this DNA into bacteria's and found that BST can produce fast in the bacteria. Then the scientists took those BST from the bacteria injected into the cows. The cows developed better appetites after regular injections of the extra hormone BST and secreted large amount of milk. The Bureau of Foods & Drugs of America approved that the milk was safe for consumption. But the immune- system was affected and did not work properly after overdose of BST in the cows. The biggest side effect was the increase of infection of the cow breast, so antibiotics were injected into them to treat their infected breasts also helps strengthen their low immune- system. However a hazard was created as the residual antibiotic deposited in the milk, ice cream (etc. dairy products). Therefore the environment was contaminated.

There are many advantages of the genetic engineering in animal husbandry. Not only increase the amount of product but also detect of many diseases earlier.

Online writing services offer help on The genetic engineering of animal

One of the main purposes that we used genetic engineering for farm animal is to increase in the amount of the milk produced per cow. Milk is the major food for our breakfast, so it requires a lot of yield. Also the prices become cheaper because of more yield. And the poor can hold to buy more.

Other advantage is by using genetic engineering to prolong shelf life of meat. For instance, the scientists used fish gene transfer into tomatoes and these tomatoes can put on the shelf for longer time.

The last but not the least. Now the technology of genetic engineering can detect and treat the diseases such as congenital inheritance or cancer, etc. To change on the new DNA, take off the congenital part. Some incurable disease also can be healed.

In the other hand, any good thing will have its negative part behind. For the genetic engineering, there still have some unknown harms, ethical and biological concerns. Green party also does not want genetic engineering food.

One of the disadvantage is the genetic engineering lead to the eugenics, the weak specimen is loosing in the future. But who will know that those weak parts may become important and be developed in the future.

As with any new technology, the set of risks associated with genetic engineering have almost certainly not been identified. The ability to imagine what might go wrong with a technology is limited by the currently incomplete understand of physiology, genetics, and nutrition.

One of the most ethical concerns is the genetic engineering food may against religion. Transferring animal genes into plants raises important ethical issues for vegetarians and religious group. It may also involve animal experiments, which are unacceptable to many people.

At the last, the environment is contaminated. Because of transferring the gene from one to another, plants contain animal's genes; animals contain human's genes. It is unpredictable what may happen to the next generation.

In the conclusion, nothing can be perfect in this world. Learning how to use genetic engineering at the right way is very important. By testing thousand times and then give the safest food for people to enjoy.

I am so very thankful that I registered for this course because I have learned such a priceless amount of knowledge ranging everywhere from resolving

Conflict, keeping calm, centering and relaxation responses to the therapeutic powers of the act of writing. All of us, as human beings and as citizens of a free country, have certain inalienable rights- from those guaranteed by law, such as freedom of speech and the right to a due process of laws, to the more subtle rights to stand up for our views or to act in our own best interest. In our everyday life, we are often confronted with situations that violate, or at least threaten, some of our rights. Assertiveness is standing up for my own rights without infringing upon the rights of others. It is self-enhancing, generating positive feelings toward myself and others, and it leads to smooth interpersonal relationships. Personally speaking, being an individual in desperate need of assertiveness training, I am quite aware of the ramifications of non-assertive consequences. The inability to experience adequate assertiveness training skills prior to learning this course, I have experienced regret, guilt, sorrow, indecisiveness, in situations that did not call for such reactions. I found myself being victimized, manipulated into circumstances that if I had used the assertive techniques of standing firm in my responses, following my own inner intuition, the end result would have been that I would be a healthier, happier person.

I found a great amount of personal achievement and satisfaction when we practiced our assertive techniques by role-playing various situations. It completely empowered me with the awareness that the shy, quiet, non-assertive behavior that I had become accustomed to was definitely ready to be terminated. I am now in the process of actively implementing and restructuring my attitude, correcting my 'Old Habits' of always giving up my rights, saying yes, (WHEN I MEAN NO!) , and giving up those negative self-defeating behaviors that prevent me from asserting my very own interpersonal rights.

I found this course to be extremely rewarding because it offered immediate relief to responding accurately, efficiently toward various changing circumstances. I discovered that I should not have to feel guilty if I feel that my rights, decisions, and opinions are being infringed upon because without learning the assertive techniques I many times find myself getting taken advantage of.

College Essays on Assertivness Training

I particularly appreciate the positive reinforcement that it was perfectly normal to implement the various assertive skills necessary during conversation and communication.

By using the responsible behaviors as recommended in negative assertion, or agreeing to disagree, or perhaps, staying centered, calm, and relaxing during a confrontational circumstance, I have learned to find a workable compromise and resolve the conflict. I also discovered that by tentatively accepting constructive criticism with negative inquiry, I am capable of remaining calm, I avoid being defensive, and I avoid being manipulated by improving the communication. " Perhaps, I am , working too hard, maybe, I might follow your suggestion and change the time schedule, by restructuring my routine." The

Book that I particularly enjoyed and discovered by studying this class was a new and updated edition of the classic self-understanding through journal writing. It has completely change my life (this past week) because I never heard about journal writing until I attended the assertiveness course. The author, Christina Baldwin, provides excerpts from her own personal journal entries that encourages the reader to build confidence in their own individuality and acquire self knowledge without having to seek constant approval from others. She is the author of Life's Companion Journal Writing as a Spiritual Quest.

Dr. Faustus Essay

Power and Pleasure

Raeann Carpio

Who doesn't want power? Everyone may say to his or her friends and family that power doesn't mean anything to them, but we all know that they are lying. If anyone was told that they could have power for only 5 cents, I'm sure most everyone would do it. However, does power change how a person acts? Does it change how person feels about things? Does it change how a person treats others? Of course it does. Once a person has power they totally change. Some seem not to care what others think. Some think that there is no one as powerful as them. Some become mean and bitter toward others. Usually those people are given a wake up call. Once a person has power, material items become more important to them. They want that new car, or that new million-dollar house. They just have to have the best of everything. Also, once a person has power they may treat others not as good. The only people that become important to them are the other people who have power. Most of these points are brought out in the Dr. Faustus movie. Dr. Faustus debates over weather or not he should have the power. This is something everyone would do if given the choice. There are going to be good things to having power, but there will definitely be very bad things as well. It's hard to decide if the good things out rule the bad things, or if the bad things out rule the good things. Like Faustus, most of us would choose to take the power. However, what if the only way to have the power is to sell your soul, to the Devil? Dr. Faustus doesn't know if he should follow with God or sell his soul to the Devil, since many think it doesn't belong to us in the first place. Dr. Faustus finally decides to sell his soul to the Devil to gain power and knowledge. In his case, he thinks that power and knowledge for him on Earth is much more important then an eternity of happiness in Heaven with God.

College papers on Dr. FaustusPower and Pleasure

Just like the old saying, "Money can't buy happiness," neither can power. It's just like when a child gets a new toy. They wanted that toy so bad, and they thought that they had to have it or else they would die. After two days with that new toy, it gets thrown in the closet and doesn't come back out for years. That's how power could get. Dr. Faustus loves having his power at first. He had so much fun throwing the pies and cakes at those leaders. He was just so happy to finally get them back. I'm guessing that Dr. Faustus and the Holy Roman Emperor weren't the best of friends. Dr. Faustus used his power to get back at the Holy Roman Emperor, and embarrass him. But, just like anyone would do, Dr. Faustus starts to regret his power. Just like now, when people get to much power now a days, they start to regret ever making that decision. I bet there are some times when President Bush wishes he never ran for president. With power comes responsibility, and some people have a tough time with that. Dr. Faustus came to consciousness when he realized that power wasn't all it's cracked up to be. Dr. Faustus realized that he'd rather live eternally with God, and maybe power wasn't all good. But in the end, he got taken to hell, by the girl he liked. That happens quite a bit now days. We like some girl or boy, but they usually end up teaching us wrong things, or things we shouldn't be doing.

I don't think people would sell their souls anymore. I think people are more aware of the good things they have in the future if they give God their soul and lives. People have more knowledge now, and God is usually more important to most people. I hope Dr. Faustus taught us that it's not always good to have power. Having power and knowledge can sometimes lead to bad things. We just need to live the life that God gave us, and not be tempted by the Devil.

Man's nature is a varied terrain, rife with shortcomings and surprising abilities. The two authors, London and Steinback, make use of this unusual dichotomy to convey their purpose. Man's often-pompous ego hinders his decision-making abilities, but behind this sinful shortcoming lays perseverance, which is astounding at times. Such an example of this could be derived from the two characters of Flight and To Build a Fire. Firstly, the extreme nature of their respective environments is harsh and impersonal, but proved that man can go a very long way to survive despite adverse conditions. As for man's shortcomings, they are both numerous and varied, from Pepe's wine induced decision to kill a man for an insult, to the man's decision to go out alone in the freezing temperatures. In the end, everyone has to make a decision, to either humble himself or think rather of dignity. These decisions and actions by man in general, serve to propel the story's development of the characters done only in the way London and Steinback could have.

The environments both characters traverse are easily the most extreme environments in the world. In Flight Pepe's injuries, including a piece of stone impaling his hand, the eventual infection and gangrenous effects thereof would really hinder someone trying to escape through a scorching desert. His dogged attempts at escape from the inevitable repercussions of his sins really highlight man's perseverance. In comparison, the man from To Build a Fire poured his whole being into building a fire, yet in the end it was not enough, such is the fate of arrogance. The environments in these situations bring out the besting man, pushing him to the limit.

The sins of the characters portrayed are those, which everyone has dealt with, pride, passion, vanity and the like. The plotlines of both the stories are initiated by the sins of the main characters. Pepe's sin of getting drunk, losing his temper, and killing a man are very serious sins, the repercussions of which are felt throughout the rest of the story. Comparably the man's sins are mainly associated with arrogance, in that he believed the old man's advice did not apply to him, that he could handle the arctic winter alone. Not so, even in death he chose to think of dying with 'dignity' rather than making peace with God. The two authors used the contrasting natures of man to depict characters to which anyone could relate.

After all is said and done, there is always one last chance to redeem yourself, that chance came rather expectedly to the man from To Build a Fire, he knew his likely fate half an hour in advance. Yet even after knowing that he will most likely die, he sat there thinking about how they would find him, not about the sins he has committed, or the people he has wronged. On the other hand, Pepe exemplifies true repentance by the simple sign of the cross the moment before he dies. These two decisions made reflect on the characters; for they were no more holy, just more human, for to be human is to err.

Cheap writing services for compare and contrast of to build a fire and flight papers

One of the characteristics of these stories are there amazing characterization for such a small story. Both heroes made bad decisions, and sometimes made up for them with acts of humility and repentance. Their human perseverance shines through their valiant struggle to stay alive in the most harsh and dangerous of natural environments. Just as everyone has, they made mistakes, sins which led to their imminent demise. In the end everyone makes a decision, either for better or worse, for that is the nature of human frailty. London and Steinback crafted their words well, truly the masters of their domain, even if not of their lives.

Among the defining affairs in my life, the most poignant is an ill history that has taken place overseas, boldly prompted to my eyes and beginning prior to my birth. It is this dire event, replete with poverty and ignorance, that fuels my ambitions for justice and equity. A sad story 6,10 miles away from the United States in a country unknown to the rest of the world still resonates within my being. Every day that passes this ghost grows further from the world as time separates it from the minds of so many others. However, each day the personal significance of this misfortune grows stronger. As I approach a pivotal point in my life, where ambitions can be realized, I feel the impact of this story stronger than ever before.

This story is the Dominican History. A history full of masacres, tyrannies, and constant violations towards society, a story that does not yet have a happy ending. Despite Dominican's suffering and hardship, these people sacrifice whatever they have in hope of justice and prosperity for future generations. Many immigrate illegally to Puerto Rico risking and many times losing there lives. Many leave their loved ones behind, and still more never return . My mother emigrated from the Dominican Republic to the United States more than twenty years ago due to the hard times. In flights imersed with fright and sadness from " El Aereopuerto Internacional de las Americas" to New York and later to Rhode Island she physically left her country. However, she carried with her those nights of hunger and tears. To this country she brought her hope, spirituality, gratitude for life and ambitions that are quintessential of the Dominican spirit. I have been blessed to inherit these bittersweet aspects of her character, which manifest in times of need. My mothers struggle has been inspirational and very influential to me. She is deeply scarred by these misfortunes. As her daughter I witness her psychological and physical scars, and, as her daughter I acquire my own.

Growing up a first generation American is a blessing. I am able to embrace two cultures, two languages, and acquire an international perspective of the world. Even at a very early age, I expressed interest and pride in my Dominican heritage. I soon became a person dedicated to two flags, a citizen of two nations. However, some of the most affecting experiences that attribute to my passion and knowledge are those that are painful. The hardships were never truly left behind. I remember once in first grade she had gone to pick me up early from school. Some minor authorities starting questioning her, questions she did not know how to answer, questions she did not understand. I saw her sob and sob in desesperation, hands on face and cheeks wet from tears.Following her departure, my mother was faced with multiple cases of severe discrimination. I still have vivid memories of "neighborly" exchanges of words. Some entailed "Stupid spick" being screamed into my face., although I was born in America. Even more disturbing are the prolonged events that unraveled in school while teachers turned deaf ears.

I am driven by the knowledge that the direct experience of war far exceeds all the adversity I have encountered, and may confront. My father lost his sight, but many more children in the world lose their fathers. My family has experienced discrimination, however, it is not nearly as horrific as having your own people killed before your home. Year upon year my family receives pictures from Lebanon. One I will never forget is the image of my cousins enjoying a beautiful day outside. Their faces are full of smiles. All the while, a tank sits inconspicuously in the background. Their perseverance and undying spirit is so incredibly moving.

Online writing services offer help on my heritage

--- Recently, my father shared with me a touching bit of information the day of my birth he had prayed that I would grow to help the people of Lebanon. I intend to.

Due to this painful moment in my family's history, my interest in the field of law flourished. By knowing and witnessing the suffering of inequity, a career in justice became of incredible importance to me.

In Guy De Maupassant's Story "The Necklace," Mathilde let herself be married to Mr. Loisel, a little clerk of the Ministry of Public Instruction. She was forced to dress plainly because she had no money to dress well, and was unhappy. She suffered ceaselessly, feeling that she was born to enjoy all the luxuries that Paris life had to offer. She hated where she lived and felt poor and thought she was better than it all.

One evening her husband brought home a large envelope in his hand. Handing the envelope to Mathilde, he seemed happy and felt he was giving his wife a present. She tore the paper quickly and drew out a printed card which read

The Minister of Public Instruction and Madame Georges Ramponneau request the honor of M. and Madame Loisels company at the palace of the Ministry on Monday evening, January 18th.

Instead of being thankful and happy, as her husband had hoped, Mathilde threw the invitation on the table and was less then delighted. When her husband asked her what the problem was, Mathilde replied that she couldn't go because she only had one gown and it wasn't fit to be presented before the people who attended such events. When her husband asked how much a new gown would cost, he was bothered to hear that it would be around 400 francs. Planning to save that money for a new gun he had been eyeing, he gave up the savings to his wife to purchase a new gown.

As the party drew nearer, Mathilde's husband noticed her acting a little strange and asked her why. When Mathilde's response was that she felt embarrassed to not have any jewelry to wear, her husband reminded her of her friend, Madame Forestier. Madame Forestier would surely loan Mathilde a piece of jewelry to wear.

When Mathilde went to her friend and described her troubles, Mme. Forestier told her to say no more and brought Mathilde a jewelry box and told her to choose. While she rummaged through the box nothing seemed to suit her and she kept asking if she had more. Finally she discovered a very ornament diamond necklace and chose that one to borrow.

Not leaving the ball until after 4 in the morning the two returned home and Mathilde noticed that there was something terribly wrong. She had lost the necklace. Immediately Mathilde's husband searched the city as she sat waiting impatiently. Dismissing ideas of lying to her friend to tell her it was broken, she decided to go to the local jewelry stores in search of a replica. Finding one, it cost 6,000 francs. Mathilde and he husband would borrow the money and replace the necklace.

Now, with the necklace replaced and Mathilde and her husband now buried in debt, they had to leave their home for something less expensive and Mathilde's husband took on more jobs. Mathilde came to learn housework and other chores to get the debt paid. This life lasted ten years. At the end of ten years they had paid everything with the rates of usury and the accumulations of the compound interest.

Ten years later and Mathilde has grown old now. She had become a woman now a woman not afraid hard and rough labor. With her hair a mess, skirt askew and red hands, she grew accustomed to talking loud while washing the floor through the swishes of water. But sometimes she sat down near the window and she thought of that joyous evening, of that ball where she had seemed so beautiful and so admired among the well to do.

One Sunday, Mathilde suddenly saw a woman leading a child. It was Madame Forestier, still young, still beautiful, and still charming. Mathilde felt moved. Should she speak to her? And now that she had paid, she would tell her all about it. Approaching Madame Forestier, she went unrecognized and Mathilde told her who she was. Surprised, Madame Forestier pointed out how time had changed Mathilde. Mathilde blamed it on Madame Forestier and told her about losing the Necklace and giving up her life to replace it. Upon hearing this, Madame Forestier laughed and revealed to Mathilde that the necklace was a piece of costume jewelry and not real.

Solid

-Generally, your grasp of the importance and flexibility of language (how it comes to us, what qualifies as reading and writing, etc.). The gut feeling I got from this paper was a good one I felt safe in the author's hands because he seemed aware of the very realness of reading and writing (it's not just something that happens in a classroom).

-Your discussion of rap music (p.-). This was particularly solid in relation to the rest of your paper because you 1) narrated the activity and then ) fully thought out its significance to you and other audiences.

-Several of your sentences are pure poetry. "We read our mothers smiles when she rocked us to sleep." "…and your mother said 'stop that' you knew she meant business." "The public also reads people by their appearance…"

Order essays on tony and other topics

-The way you open up your paper in the concluding paragraph to a new idea (taking a broad definition of reading and writing into the schools). You have articulated a very open theory of reading and writing in your paper, and it's like you say "Here's what we could do with it."

Could be solid

-In your first two paragraphs, you flesh out a theory of reading and writing. This is an excellent place for doing that sort of thing because it provides a context for the reader. It's like saying, "Reader, I want to tell you where I'm coming from so that you understand how to interpret the events I'm going to tell you about." However, for a paper of this length, the introduction (what I consider your first two paragraphs) is probably too long. I came to this paper with expectations that it was going to be about you and got weighed down in the opening abstract discussion of reading and writing (particularly in the second paragraph). It could be condensed in order to get the reader more quickly to YOU. This is, after all, an autobiography.

-The transition from the introduction to the rest of your paper. I think that with whatever you end up making your introduction…toward the end of it, you should relate your theory of reading and writing specifically back to you. The road map thing. As it is now, your introduction does prepare me in a sense for the rest of the paper because in your introduction you explode the meaning of reading to include everything under the sun. But I need a sense of the specific things you'll discuss and why you chose them over other possibilities.

Not so solid

-The discussion of Michael Jackson could be erased. You made your point about music's effect on you very persuasively with rap music. The Michael Jackson portion read more like a "shout out" to a favorite musician than an actual discussion of his significance. If he stays in there, he needs to be more fully developed. What is it specifically about his music? Are there specific songs/lyrics of his that are meaningful to you? Did his music ever have a very dramatic effect on you at a specific time?

-The discussion of movies, the public's judgment of appearance, and the news need to be rooted in more specifics. I have a general idea, but like my sophomore English teacher from high school used to say, "You're only as good as you are specific." A passionate writer will help the reader by finding examples that stick. Not just talking about the news in a general sort of way, but discussing a very specific article or headline that affected him. Not just talking about movies in a general way, but discussing a very specific one. It's that balance between general commentary and very specific examples that makes an excellent paper excellent.

Point at which I lost myself

-The first few lines…"you don't only read books, but you read everyone and everything around you." These lines excited me because I felt the paper wasn't going to give me a ho-hum traditional view of reading and writing. "We read our mothers smiles when she rocked us to sleep." That's when I REALLY gave myself up to your paper. The poetry of that line was incredible, especially followed by the short explanation of significance "That showed us love."

Other points to consider

-Think about what we discussed in class regarding introductions and conclusions. Does your conclusion "talk" to your introduction? Does it resonate? Echo?

"The Commitments " has great social and cultural significance, especially for the Irish. Alan Parker has achieved this through many different techniques including sets, lighting, camera techniques, music, language and representation of families.

Alan Parker uses the streets of Dublin for his sets. He uses real houses and warehouses and this makes the film look very realistic and helps people to relate to it much better than the brightly lit, fake looking sets in a lot of American films.

The realistic sets that Alan Parker has created are greatly enhanced by the lighting. The lighting on the sets of "The Commitments " is very important to the mood of the film. Most of the sets in the film have very drab lighting, giving a feel of cold, wet, dreary weather, which is what it is like a lot of the time in Dublin. This is especially noticeable in the scene where Jimmie looks out his bathroom window to here someone sing. He looks out onto a real Dublin street. It is very small and looks damp and depressing yet the people are happy and the children are playing in the streets. This shows what life is like in Dublin and has great social significance for people in showing them what life is really like in Dublin. The viewers get to see the real streets of Dublin and not the fake brightly lit sets of hollywood.

The Irish are generally a very happy, cheerful bunch of people. Happiness and joke telling are big parts of their culture. We can see these sorts of things in Jimmie's family. Jimmie has a large family and they all live together in a rather small house. This is typical of an Irish family, especially in Dublin, where Catholicism is a big part of their culture and the houses are very small. Dublin is a very poor part of Ireland and North Dublin is even more so. Big families are often forced to live in small cramped houses much like Jimmie and Bernie's. Many people are on the dole as can be seen when Jimmie is in the dole office. Many people could relate to this sort of living. It also lets people wee what society is like in North Dublin.

Essay writing services for The cultural significance of The Commitments papers

Alan Parker also uses camera techniques to give the illusion of small, cramped spaces. One scene where these techniques are used is in Bernie's apartment when Jimmie goes to visit her. The apartment seems small and crowded like many other houses in North Dublin yet Bernie is the only one who seems unhappy. She has a lot of responsibility at home and due to this she misses some of the bands practices even though the band is very important to her.

The music in this film is very important to the culture of North Dublin and Jimmie and his friends. The music that the band plays in this film is called soul. Soul music was originally played by the black people living in poverty. Jimmie relates himself and his friends to this saying they are the blacks of Ireland. The soul music in this film is about their life and their culture and comes from the heart. The music is very important to Jimmie and you can see this when he is first trying to find members for the band and the amount of time he spends doing it. He won't have just anyone and rejects many people. This shows how culturally significant music is for Jimmie and the Irish.

One of the most socially and culturally significant factors of the film "The Commitments " is the language used in the film. The Irish accent is very distinct and is a major part of Irish culture. The slang in the film shows a lot about the society in North Dublin and what the people are like. It shows how upfront the Irish are; they don't beat around the bush or waste words trying to be polite. An example of this is at the start of the film at the wedding when the kids run into an old man and he tells them to "Fk off".

The Irish culture and society is very distinct and it is what Alan Parker has captured of it that gives this film is cultural and social significance.

I've been investing in the stock market for about five years now, and over the years I've learned that perception can be misleading. In fact there was a time in my life when what was perceived and what was reality was so drastic that it cost me a large sum of money.

Five years ago I was given a little over $10,000 by my grandfather to do with as I pleased. I decided to invest the money in the stock market since I had a passion with Wall Street. I was a novice investor trading through my Ameri Trade account. Through general articles in the business section of the local paper and magazines articles I had chosen the companies that I would invest in. Most of the companies that I invested in were the larger Fortune 500, like Budweiser and Coca-Cola. To be a good investor I needed to be better diversified. I read about an energy company named Enron, that was taking the corporate world by storm. After reading many articles about this company it was a hard thing to resist. After seeing CEO Jeff Skilling on TV shows like MSNBC Talking about his approach to selling energy was the future way of doing business. After reading how the company was expanding and the financials numbers looked great, I decided to jump aboard. That was the perception.

The reality was it is a company that wanted to expand to fast. As the chart shows below the in order to expand it had to borrow millions of dollars, even Enron had the banks on for the ride (See Table 1).

Europes banks turn out to be big Enron creditors

MILLIONS

ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND $500 Britain

INTESA-BCI 00 Italy

CREDIT LYONNAIS 50 France

ABN AMRO 00 Netherlands

SOCIETE GENERALE 167 France

ABBEY NATIONAL 160 Britain

BARCLAYS 16 Britain

DEUTSCHE BANK 50 Germany

With all this money being borrowed the company had to show good profits to keep the investors happy. In order to do this many of the top Executives had to exploit the numbers to keep the company to keep up the public perception that the company was turning a profit rather than a loss. In the table below you will see how what was perceived and what was reality (See Table ).

Table

As you can see over the years Enron executives over stated their profits, thus misleading the investors. To do this Enron needed the help of its independent accounting firm to help shore up the numbers that the company was filling. Anderson accounting firm, which was being paid close to a million dollars a week, help Enron inflate the numbers shown above. In the later half of the 000 and early 001 many of ther top executives at Enron started selling off most of their shares. On December 00 with a debt of 1.1 billion of its parent company and 18.1 billion in the affiliates the company filed for bankruptcy (Zellner). The ship came to a screeching halt, 4000 people at Enron lost their jobs along with it their savings (Zellner). Since Enron invested their employees 401k back into company stock they lost their entire retirement portfolio (See Table )

Table

It seems that Enron official not only fooled their employees but the public also(Zellner). This quote by Gary Hamel, Chairman of consultant Stategos (Cited in Business Week 001) shows that even the business world was taken back.

Before

Enron isnt in the business of eking the last penny out of a dying business but of continuously creating radical new business concepts with huge upside.

After

Do I feel like an idiot? No. If I misread the company in some way, I was one of a hell of a lot of people who did that.

I was apart of the millions who lost money through Enron. I was one of the fortunate people who only lost a couple of thousand dollars wrapped up in shares of Enron stock, I managed to sell off the shares as the stock plummeted and loose about $800. Some people were not so lucky, as stated above many investors and employees of Enron lost their entire portfolio. Perception is very deceiving when it comes to company stocks I.E. Tyco, Martha Stewart and Inclone, only with research will reality confirm what is perception.

Refering to the book White Lies by Maurice Berger and the documentary The Color of Fear, there are discernable typical attitudes of whites towards blacks and other non-white groups. Berger quotes Cornel West, author of the book Race Matters, when he points out that white people typically do not want to believe that racism is still a problem in the United States, "Both (Liberals and Conservatives) fail to see that the presence and predicaments of black people are neither additions to or defections from American life, but rather constitute elements of that life" (0). To contradict this image of denial, Berger recognizes that "people of color are used as plot devices and props, their lives the backdrop to or catalyst for stories about white valor, selflessness, and benevolence" (68). The attitude that black people are usually poor, therefore dishonest, therefore criminals- is so common amongst white people that "No black person is ever unaware of his or her race. Because white society makes that impossible. Regardless of how old I am, or how I'm dressed, or what neighborhood I'm in, women clutch their purses at my approach" (85). The assumption of criminality goes hand-in-hand with the attitude that black people are untrustworthy, as expressed by Berger when he writes, "No matter how integrated their communities, white people have a fairly limited threshold for blackness" (80). White people also perceive what defines equality differently, as Berger's personal experience proves when he reflects about affirmative action "There is a fine line with equal opportunity. What is equal? What's equal to you may not be equal to me" (77). Berger agrees with Patricia J. Williams, author of The Rooster's Egg, that "More often than not… white people force black people into neatly compartmentalized categories of class" (51). He later states that "White people are often invested in the myth that African Americans either are impoverished or belong to an elite of celebrities, politicians, and athletes. In this mythic, either-or-view of black life, African Americans are rarely understood to share the middle and working-class allegiances of most whites" (5). Berger believes that concerning integration, most white people believe that it would "endanger the integrity and future…" (10). Again, Berger refers to Ted Koppel's social inquiries on Nightline quoting, "I've heard fears expressed… that what [white people] are concerned about is… that the community you've established, the safety you've established, the property values you've established could in some way be damaged [by] African American[s]…" (10).

The basis for some of the most negative attitudes expressed by whites in the book and documentary is expansive and cumbersome. To begin with, by one of the participants involved the documentary, it is pointed out that the "fear of color will remain…" and this is, no doubt, where the title The Color of Fear is derived from. When analyzing the attitudes held by whites, one of the non-white participants verbalized a common non-white attitude that white people "step into a world that is theirs." The most verbal white person on the documentary expressed the common denial felt by whites when having to accept the possibility of the current and modern existence of racism, when he said, "it seems like such a hard life- I don't want to believe that that is possible. It's very saddening- you don't want to believe or accept that man can be so cruel." Berger quotes Joe Feagin and Hernan Vera, authors of the book White Racism, helping to identify yet another basis for white attitudes "Many whites seem to have a strong feeling that African Americans are somehow not like white people… One professional summarized the point of view 'I think it's just a matter of values, of blacks having lower standards and lower values than whites, if you're going to put it black versus white.'… Reality is sacrificed for sincere fictions; most whites' lack of empathy makes them unable to relate to the black struggle to survive in a hostile world" (17).

Hugo Black has been called by scholars "One of a half dozen of the greatest Justices in the history of the U.S. supreme Court in terms of the influence he exerted on the shaping of our law." Black, a member of the United States Supreme Court for thirty-four years, was appointed by Franklin D. Roosevelt in 17, and resigned from the Supreme Court, in 171. He was born on February 7, 1886 in Harlan, Alabama, a farm town consisting of all white citizens in the "Deep South". His father owned a general store, and his mother was a postmistress. In 188, he moved with his family to Ashland Alabama. In 18, Black's father William, died in Ashland. He knew little about his father's life, but respected him a great deal even though he was an alcoholic who showed little love. Black did not feel the effects of his father's death until later on in his life. In the 160's, he became involved in learning about his father's ancestors, and began visiting many different small towns in Alabama, close to the one that he grew up in. In these towns, he pieced together the history of his father's life and the history of many of his ancestors. Black became captivated with this, and became an amateur genealogist. In 168, Black even contacted the General Services Administration to find out more about his uncle who died in the Battle of Gettysburg. During his childhood in Alabama, Black looked up to his older brothers. In 10, he graduated from Ashland College, and then moved on to attend the University of Alabama law school which he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from in 106. One-year prior, Black's mother Martha, died in Ashland. After graduating, Black returned to Ashland a slight, short young man. He then established a private practice. One year later, a fire destroyed his law office and library, which he had financed using funds that were given to him by his father. After the fire, he moved west to Birmingham to practice law. In 118, Black enlisted in the U.S. Army where he was made a Captain. While in the Army, Black was stationed in Tennessee. Though Black had a very tough time in Officer Training School, he later said that serving in the Army benefited him greatly. Black's infantry was later sent to France. The day they arrived in France to fight, the Armistice was signed. After World War One, Black returned to Birmingham where he earned about $60,000 per year. This was a very good salary for a lawyer of that time. In 1, he joined the Ku Klux Klan. The Klan helped Black get elected to the U.S. Senate in 16, but he resigned the same year. Though he once shared the views of the Klan, Black later fought to end all segregation in the south during the 160s. In 17, Black moved to Washington D.C. where for the next ten years, he was a U.S. Senator. In 17, Hugo Black became Associate Justice of the Supreme Court. Later, the news that Black was formerly a member of the KKK damaged his image. Black told the people that "Raw ambition" drove him to join, and he was "doing the right thing even though I don't like the Klan." Later in his career, Black was know for being a man who fought for equality of all people regardless of their walk of life or race. In 155, Black was greatly involved in the Joseph McCarthy trials. He used fundamentals from the Constitution, such as First Amendment rights in many of his argument. On September 15, 171 Hugo Black resigned from the Supreme Court. He died a week after in Bethesda, Maryland. He will be remembered for his genuine passion for the Constitution. It was said that Black carried a copy in his coat pocket and when he was asked a question about law, would take it out and read a passage from it.

Howard Ball, the author of Hugo Black Cold War Warrior, is a professor of Political Science and University Scholar at the University of Vermont. He has written almost two-dozen judicial biographies on federal judges.

Argument is an essential component of every day human affairs. Speakers use arguments to generate knowledge and to seek agreement by analyzing the available facts, warrants, and conclusions of each other's arguments. Argument is also responsible for producing conceptual changes in people.

The Toulmin system is a series of steps designed to help build an argument. The steps help us to understand and how to discuss arguments we study as well as help us frame our own arguments more effectively. Reasoning "is a collective and continuing human transaction, in which we present ideas of claims to particular sets of people within particular situations or contexts and offer the appropriate kinds of reasons in their support. Claims linked to evidence of good reason s are what we mean when we use the term argument" (p. 91). Toulmin identifies two types of reasoning.

Formal reasoning also refereed to al formal logic is predominately used with formal logical thinkers. This form of reasoning deals with certain truth that already exists. Mathematicians, astronomers, and formal logicians use this reasoning because the ideas are already agreed upon.

Write a research paper on Toulmin Model:An Approach in Formal Communication

Practical reasoning also referred to as substantive logic, involves the rational exposition and criticism of arguments. When people evaluate these types of arguments they are not considered correct or incorrect. They are evaluated if they are relevant or irrelevant, strong or weak, or reasonable or unreasonable. Practical Reasoning through argument involves the movement through a specific set of goals in order to build an argument. Everyday persuasion requires argumentation, but it must be developed in a proper manner and sequence to increase the likelihood of effectiveness.

First it in necessary to determine your claim if you plan to build a credible argument. This can be considered the thesis of your argument. What is the claim that I'm going to make? " The most common claims in the realm of persuasion are judgmental" (p. 97) the words we use in these types of claims will involve opinions and feelings and these ideas will inevitably be debated. So a solid warrant will be especially necessary in developing an effective argument.

After you have established your main point of your argument you need to have a warrant. A warrant will complete the logical structure. By identifying a warrant to our argument early in the argument's development, we can anticipate any possible objections to assumptions.

As with every argument that we construct you have to have a backing. Some rationale and credentials designed to verify the assumptions expressed in the warrant. What backup evidence do I have I have of can I find to add further support?

It is evident inevitable in human nature that someone will question the validity of your argument. You must be prepared to acknowledge and respond to possible counterargument. Toulmin would call this Rebuttal or Refutations. Conditions for rebuttal include acknowledging any parts of the argument, which might not hold true in certain cases, of which might be disagreed upon in any way. Rebuttals can be directed against the reasons and the grounds or against the warrant and the backing. Your ability to anticipate any rebuttals will increase your chances of producing an effective argument. First you need to identify what refutations could possibly be made against your developed claim. A rebuttal is used to qualify the claim in the anticipation of certain objections.

Finally a qualifier is used to strengthen the claim. This basically ends the argument with force and impact and makes the speaker more credible if he or she stands by their claim even after harsh refutations. If they defended their argument well people will notice, their reasoning and their premises for that claim. Qualifiers answers our condition for rebuttal, and most qualifiers are usually created in response to potential rebuttals.
